Event Cancellations and Refunds

Event Cancellations and Postponements

Whilst every effort will be made to run all advertised events, Taituarā reserves the right to cancel an event due to low enrolment or other circumstances which would make the event unviable. If Taituarā cancels an event, attendees will be offered a full refund.

Should circumstances arise that result in the postponement of an event, attendees will have the option to either receive a full refund or transfer registration to the same event at the new, future date.

Taituarā will endeavour to notify attendees as soon as practicable of cancellations and postponements and will not be liable for any expenses incurred by attendees as a result of the cancellations and/or postponements.

Force Majeure

Under no circumstances will Taituarā be held liable for any delay or failure in performance resulting directly or indirectly from acts of nature, forces or causes beyond its reasonable control including without limitation fires, flood, storms, explosion, earthquakes, other acts of God or war or in the case of webinars, technical failures.

Cancellations

Once a completed registration form has been received, any cancellation must be made in writing by emailing info@taituara.org.nz.

For cancellations of Gala Dinner tickets:

Due to the nature of this event, the cancellation of ticket registrations will not be accepted. However, tickets may be transferred and we welcome replacement guests. In all cases, including non-attendance, the ticket registration fee will be payable in full and no refunds given.

For cancellations more than 10 working days prior to an event:

If cancellation of registration is received more than 10 working days prior to the start date of the event, the registration fee will not be invoiced, or if pre-paid, a full refund will be given. All refund requests must be made by the attendee or credit card holder and must include the name of the attendee and/or transaction number.

For cancellations 10 or less working days prior to an event:

If cancellation of registration is received 10 working days or less prior to the start of the event, or in the case of registered non-attendees, the registration fee will be payable in full and no refunds given.

It is our policy where there are circumstances beyond attendees control that prevent them from attending an event, i.e. disruption to travel arrangements, sickness etc., not to refund the registration fee but to provide course materials (if applicable). Only in exceptional circumstances will refunds be considered such as a local state of emergency requiring essential staff to remain in that area to respond to the emergency. Please contact info@taituara.org.nz giving full details.

However, if a registered person is unable to attend a substitute may be sent at no extra cost, unless there is a difference in ticket cost (member price versus non-member price). Exceptions to this may occur in relation to specific events i.e. where the nature of the event requires preparation work or does not allow for substitution by another council employee (e.g. the Chief Executives Forum).

Please note that these above policies apply to all Taituarā events unless otherwise noted in the corresponding event materials. Please read all individual event information thoroughly.

Please note:

The information you supply during registration for an event will be shared and used between Taituarā staff, contractors and third party providers for the purpose of the event and for notifications of subsequent Taituarā events. Unless you request otherwise, your information may also be shared with fellow participants and sponsors of the event in the form of a participant list. You are entitled to ask Taituarā for access to your personal information and to request any corrections.

You release Taituarā, its employees, and each and all persons involved from any liability connected with the taking, recording or publication and use of photographs, video and/or or sound recordings.
