About this event
The Local Government Rating (Rating of Whenua Māori) Amendment Act became law on 13 April 2021. Some provisions took effect immediately, while others will take effect from 1 July 2021. The changes will have an impact on any local authority with whenua Māori (77 out of 78 local authorities). All of these will need to act between now and 1 July 2021. This webinar supports the guidance note recently prepared by the Department of Internal Affairs.
The webinar breaks the new requirements down into a series of steps with advice for each step. This is an opportunity to get some pragmatic advice from someone who has both worked on the review, and has previous experience administering the rating system in several local authorities.
The cost for this webinar $250+GST per council.
Only one person is required to complete the registration on the Taituarā website, details on how to access the online event will be emailed directly to this person closer to the event start date. This information can then be shared with all staff in your council who wish to participate in the live session.
If you are unable to attend the live session a recording will be made available within one week. Recordings can be distributed to all staff at any council who have registered.
