About this event

The good ground changes to the Building Code will come into effect on 29 November. From that date, building consent applications will need to be assessed against the new requirements in B1/AS1 when building on liquefaction-prone ground.

You will hear from experts from Christchurch City Council and MBIE about how the new rules will work in practice, and how the liquefaction mapping and consent process will work together.

Tim Farrant is a Senior Geotechnical Engineer in the Building Consenting Unit at Christchurch City Council and also seconded on a part-time basis to the role of Senior Geotechnical Engineer, in the Building Performance and Engineering Team at MBIE. He is a Chartered Professional Engineer specialising in Geotechnical Engineering and Chartered member of Engineering New Zealand.

Greg Thompson is Senior Advisor, Information and Education in the Building System Performance Team at MBIE.

Please note this webinar is for employees of councils and council controlled organisations only.
