Last month the Future for Local Government Review Panel released its first report Ārewa ake te Kaupapa - Raising the platform.
During March and April 2022, the Panel will be connecting with councils to seek views about the future of local governance and democracy.
Our Embracing the Challenge – Creating the Future webinar series is an opportunity for Taituarā members to explore further with the Panel their understanding and interest in the five priority areas so when they come to your council you will be primed to engage effectively.
We will gather information and start forming your views on the future system of local governance and the functions of local government, with a view to articulating the purpose of local government in 2050. What does promoting well-being mean, and how is it articulated? What are your views on trust in the local – central government relationship? What system changes are needed?
Join the discussion to ensure that you are 'match-fit' ahead of the Panel’s formal engagement process next year.
