About this event

Simpson Grierson will cover the bylaw-making powers and steps that are needed to avoid the risk of an invalid bylaw (including key and recent case law). We also look at the process and timeframes for amending, reviewing, and revoking bylaws and touch on penalties and enforcement.  An introduction for those who are new to bylaw-making, and a refresher for those already familiar with bylaws. 

Who should attend?

Anyone working with bylaws, especially those writing or reviewing their first bylaws.

Please register one ticket for your council on the Taituarā website. Leading up to the event, a Zoom link will be sent to you, to register on Zoom before attending. This can then be forwarded to anyone in your council who would like to attend.
