Applications are now open for a prize recognising innovation and excellence in human resources within the local government sector. This will be presented during our upcoming Strategic HR Forum.

The Emerging HR Professional Prize recognises someone working in the HR profession who is in the early stages of their career, and who is relatively new to the local government sector. We are looking for those that have played a significant role in a project, programme, or piece of work within their council.

James Lord, Manager Workforce Leadership here at Taituarā, says "our sector continues to navigate a huge amount of uncertainty and change, and that means that our people are under pressure. This prize is an opportunity to recognise up and coming HR professionals that are supporting their colleagues in such a challenging environment and also contribute to their career and development as an HR professional."

The applicant will also be asked to outline their HR career to date and demonstrate why they have chosen to work in the local government sector.

The prize includes a $2,500 contribution towards a professional development event or training activity relevant to the winner's career.

The prize will be presented by AskYourTeam at our upcoming Strategic HR Forum taking place on 1-2 July 2021.
