Leadership has been the buzzword in recent years, but just as important are foundational management skills that enable your leadership skills to shine. In 2016 Taituarā partnered with Bay of Plenty Regional Council to develop a programme that covered core management skills for leaders including:

- Delegation techniques
- Setting performance objectives
- Performance conversations
- Managing underperformance
- Team meetings and plans
- Managing in a matrix environment
- Engaging with customers
- Collaborative problem solving
- Resolving conflict
Taituarā offers this programme as an inhouse option for councils looking to develop team leader management capability. We also keep an ‘interested list’ for individuals and will offer the programme on a regional basis when where there are sufficient numbers.
