Adapting to climate change is an issue of increasing importance for Local Government.
Local Government is bearing many of the costs of climate change and is faced with making important policy with long term consequences for present and future generations. We will have presentations on managed retreat, the role of local government, engaging the public, legal issues, and we will have practical case studies.
The programme is an inspiring mix of talks from practitioners and engaging panel discussions that will provide participants with both practical examples and thought-provoking ideas.
Who should attend?
Local government professionals who are interested in climate change. Researchers and members of the public, community groups, second and third tier managers (asset managers) who are interested in how local government is responding to the challenges of climate change adaptation and mitigation.
This event is priced per person and all attendees will need an individual registration to join the live event. Please register on the Taituarā website. Leading up to the event a Zoom link will be sent to you, to register on Zoom before attending.
