Join Tania Walsh (Business Director, Beca Digital), Ryan Bond (Associate, Digital Consulting, Beca) and Stacey Young (Chief Information Officer, Marlborough District Council) as they share practical lessons from Marlborough District Council’s Regional Intelligence Hub journey and explore how councils can unlock greater value from the data they already hold.
Drawing on real-world examples from Marlborough District Council and the New Zealand Geotechnical Database (NZGD), recently showcased through the Microsoft AI Tour as a New Zealand example of digital twins and AI in practice, this session will demonstrate how trusted data foundations, digital twin capabilities and AI-enabled access can help councils improve decision-making, operational efficiency, compliance and customer service.
Participants will hear directly from Marlborough District Council about the opportunities, challenges and lessons learned in connecting information across systems and creating a more intelligence-led organisation. The webinar will also explore how the same principles can be applied to common local government challenges such as property information, water management, environmental monitoring, asset performance and infrastructure planning.

She partners with local and central government clients to identify practical opportunities where digital twins, trusted data foundations and AI-enabled solutions can improve decision-making, service delivery and long-term planning. Tania is passionate about helping councils bridge the gap between data collection and actionable insight, enabling better outcomes for communities.
Stacey Young
Stacey Young is the Chief Information Officer at Marlborough District Council, where she leads the council’s digital, information and technology strategy. Stacey is focused on enabling better outcomes for council staff, elected members and the community through practical digital transformation, trusted information management and modern service delivery. Her work includes improving how council data is accessed, governed and used to support operational performance, regulatory responsibilities, infrastructure planning and customer services. Stacey brings a council leadership perspective on the opportunities and challenges of connecting information across systems and creating a more intelligence-led organisation.
Ryan Bond
Ryan is an Associate in Beca’s Digital Consulting team, specialising in the design and delivery of data-driven solutions that help clients make better decisions. Working at the intersection of technology, data and business outcomes, Ryan helps organisations transform complex information into practical tools that support planning, operations and customer service improvements. He has been closely involved in developing and implementing digital twin and regional intelligence solutions for local government clients across New Zealand.
