What is the New to Local Government campaign?
Can I purchase the e-learning by itself?
The e-learning module “How Local Government Works” is now supported by this onboarding package and cannot be purchased by itself. The payment covers the cost of the e-learning module with the other package benefits provided at no cost by Taituarā with the support of SuperEasy.
How do I sign people up?
Council HR teams can sign up eligible learners through Taituarā. Once sign-up is complete, each learner will receive the information they need to access their membership benefits and HLGW.
How much does it cost?
1-20 learners:
$250 + GST per learner
21+ learners:
$200 + GST per learner
HLGW stands for How Local Government Works, the Taituarā e-learning programme for people who are new to the local government sector.
What do I get for this?
Each person signed up receives:
- A 12-month Explorer membership
- How Local Government Works e-learning, including six modules of essential learning for those new to local government
- Onboarding emails and webinars to support their first months in local government
- A welcome goodie bag, including a tote bag, book and pen
Can I still purchase HLGW without the added Explorer membership?
No, this package is designed as a combined benefit for those who are new to the local government sector.
Can I purchase Explorer membership without HLGW?
Yes. You can still become an Explorer member without purchasing HLGW by applying through the Taituarā website as usual.
Can I split the Explorer membership and HLGW access across two people?
No, this package is designed as a combined benefit for those who are new to the local government sector.
What log-in details will I need to access HLGW?
Once you have completed a membership form, we will give you access to our e-learning platform so you can start HLGW.
Are my log-in details specific to me?
Yes, log-ins are specific to individuals.
My council has signed me up, but I’m already a member. What should I do?
Great that you’re already a member. We will send you a link so you can access HLGW.
Can someone not in local government purchase this package?
This package has been created for those working within local government. If you are in another organisation and think you would benefit from parts of this package – such as the e-learning module please get in touch at elearning@taituara.org.nz
As an Council HR/learning professional – how can I track my staff’s learning?
When you purchase registrations for your council we can set up a designated learning coordinator to log in and have visibility over your learners’ progress.
Is it possible to test or review the learning material?
