The Corporate Planning Reference Group (CPRG) supports councils and Taituarā in achieving excellence in long-term and annual planning, reporting, and corporate performance. The group brings together experienced corporate planning professionals to provide guidance, share best practice, and help councils use corporate planning as a tool for effective decision-making and organisational transformation.
Purpose
The CPRG exists to:
- Promote high standards of corporate planning and reporting practice across the sector.
- Support councils in meeting statutory and regulatory requirements related to planning, reporting, and audits.
- Provide tools, guidance, and professional development opportunities for corporate planning professionals.
- Contribute to Taituarā sector leadership, policy development, and advice on planning-related issues.
Responsibilities
Members of the CPRG:
- Monitor the policy and operational environment and provide timely advice to Taituarā.
- Develop and share best practice guidance and sector responses to emerging corporate planning issues.
- Identify training and professional development needs and support relevant programmes.
- Build relationships with stakeholders who influence planning and reporting practices.
- Provide input and advice on long-term planning, annual planning, reporting, and audit requirements.
- Lead or contribute to projects that strengthen corporate planning capability across the sector.
