There has been a lot of discussion recently about getting the right tree, in the right place, for the right use. So how does planting trees for carbon markets work into this equation?
This webinar will provide an overview of the different carbon forestry schemes available and how they can support landowner’s and regional council’s needs. It will also highlight the potential benefits and risks of participating in different schemes offered through central government.

This webinar is being charged on a per council basis and is open to elected members and employees of a local authority. Others will be admitted by invitation only. We will send out a link with login instructions for the webinar the day before the webinar (Tuesday 25 September)

Madeline Hall is a Senior Catchment Advisor at Hawke’s Bay Regional Council. Her role involves working with farmers and foresters to reduce their impact on water quality and remain resilient under a changing climate. Madeline has received a Masters Degree in Environmental Sociology from the University of Otago courtesy of a Fulbright Scholarship and worked as a Policy Analyst in the Domestic Climate Change Team at the Ministry for Primary Industries. Originally from Washington D.C., Madeline has also evaluated forest-based payments for ecosystem services programmes while living in Latin America and represented Indigenous Peoples groups at the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change Conference of the Parties.
