About this event

The Government is embarking on an ambitious reform of the resource management system.

The proposed Natural and Built Environments Act (NBA) will be the main replacement for the Resource Management Act once enacted. It is central to the reform of the resource management system.

The Government has now released an exposure draft of the NBA, which is being considered by a special select committee inquiry.

The exposure draft does not cover the full bill but provides an early look at key aspects of the NBA including:

  • the purpose of the NBA (including Te Tiriti o Waitangi clause) and related provisions
  • the National Planning Framework (some key provisions but not all)
  • Natural and Built Environments Plans (some key provisions but not all).

Join the team from Simpson Grierson to learn more about the contents of the exposure draft and what they mean for local government. There’ll be an opportunity to ask questions and consider any major areas of concern.

This webinar will help your council to prepare to submit on the exposure draft and engage with the resource management reform programme over the coming months.

The cost for this webinar $250+GST per council.

Only one person is required to complete the registration on the Taituarā website, we will send a link to the webinar to the person who registers their council to attend.
