The Local Government Resource Management Steering Group wants to ensure there is strong local voice from councils, communities and iwi/hapū/Māori in the proposed regional planning system, and has commissioned a report outlining draft proposals to enable local democratic input and accountability in the Natural and Built Environments Act and the Strategic Planning Act.
The Steering Group are now seeking feedback on their draft proposals. Aileen Lawrie, Chair of the Taituarā Resource Management Reference Group, Kath Ross, General Manager Strategy and Reform, Taituarā, and Grace Hall, Policy Manager, LGNZ will provide an overview of the proposals and there will be opportunity to provide feedback during the webinar, as well as in writing, by 15 March 2022.
