The 2023 LGFA Taituarā Local Government Excellence Awards
This year's Supreme Award was won by Hutt City Council for its 'Takai Here Tāngata' project.

Overseas Manager Exchanges
Anne Blakeway of Tauranga City Council, Dennise Elers of Central Hawke's Bay District Council, Libby O’Brien of Taupō District Council, and Sarah Matthews also of Taupō District Council, are the winners of the 2023 Overseas Managers Exchanges sponsored by AskYourTeam, Civic Financial Services, and Marsh respectively. The New Zealand Leg of the Australasian Management Challenge
Congratulations to the Tauranga Moana Taskmasters from Tauranga City Council who won this year's New Zealand Leg of the Australasian Management Competition sponsored by Marsh. In second place was BOPR-Tea from Bay of Plenty Regional Council and Trail Blazers from Central Otago District Council came in third place. Read more.
Taituarā Emerging Leader of the Year
Horowhenua District Council local government professional Lauren Baddock was recognised as the 2023 Emerging Leader of the Year. Read more.
Taituarā Distinguished Management Award
Taituarā was delighted to announce that Barbara McKerrow is the recipient of this year's Distinguished Management Award. Barbara was nominated by both Wellington City Council and New Plymouth District Council in recognition of her 37-year career in local government. Read more.
