Collaborative Government partnership in action has achieved transformational social and economic outcomes through Jobs in Central Hawke's Bay -  Turanga Mahi ki Tamatea.

Working as the Future for Local Government today, the Jobs in Central Hawke'™s Bay project is recognised as a sector leader nationally and is held up as a national exemplar of community employment in action, having engaged with over 897 local job seekers, supporting 392 of them into employment.

It has empowered and supported over 857 local businesses to grow by employing new staff and as a result, been instrumental in Central Hawke's Bay sustaining one of the lowest unemployment rates in all of New Zealand.

This project is a collaboration between Mayors Taskforce for Jobs (MTFJ), Ministry of Social Development (MSD), Central Hawke's Bay District Council (CHBDC) and local government agencies working within the skills, training and employment sector to enable local voices to resolve barriers and implement opportunities which long-term benefit the community.
